Summerstown 182: celebrating our past
Geoff Simmons invites everyone to join in Summerstown 182’s activities for the next few months, bringing Tooting’s past alive
Here’s a quick reminder of what’s coming up in the next months; a Sidney Lewis Talk, a candle-lit ‘Walk of Remembrance’, ‘Walkin in a Tooting Wonderland’ and poetry on the Wandle to usher in the Spring. Look out for news about at least TWO new plaque initiatives next year, including one for jazz pioneer Sadie Crawford from Fountain Road and one to celebrate the day Tooting was the centre of the pop universe – all you need is love…
We also have ambitions for a major art installation and film project to mark the climax of the Summerstown182 commemoration in a year’s time! There are a few changes to the running order previously advertised so please see attached for current details.
Thanks, as always for your support!
