£2750 DONATION FROM FUN DAY 2018 TO ST GEORGE’S
Presentation at Gatton School on 26th February
BATCA and partners made an amazing £2750 donation to St George’s Hospital on 26th February from the proceeds of the Community Fun Day on 22nd September 2018. This sum reflects the efforts made by so many to make the Fun Day a success, rain or no rain! It brings the total donated to St George’s from Fun Days over the years to around £23,000.
The donation was made at a celebration at Gatton School, which brought together the key Community Fun Day partners (the schools of the Al Risalah Trust, St Augustine’s Church, Ernest Bevin College and BATCA) with Gatton School children, who sang songs they’d composed themselves. Senior representatives of St George’s Hospital and the Hospital Charity expressed their thanks.
The donation will go towards equipment for both older and younger patients. Older patients will benefit from the ‘Acuvein’ device to make it easier to find veins for administering medication, and younger patients from blood pressure monitors for the children’s cancer ward.
