£3750 FROM COMMUNITY FUN DAY PRESENTED TO ST GEORGE’S
Presentation at Gatton School on 7th November
A cheque for £3750 raised at the Community Fun Day led by BATCA in July was handed to representatives of St George’s Hospital at an informal presentation at Gatton School on 7 th November. We relived the Fun Day, when the whole community came together to have a great day out and raise funds for St George’s.
The school children sang rousing songs and talked about their favourite things at the Fun Day. Representatives of the three main partners (St Augustine’s Church, the Al Risalah Trust’s schools and BATCA) praised the neighbourly spirit that makes the Fun Day happen. Vivien Gunn of the St George’s Hospital Charity replied with thanks and appreciation.
The donation reflects the special place St George’s has in local people’s hearts. The funds donated will provide a new cardiac monitor for children’s wards and contribute to the cost of a specialised chair for elderly patients to allow them to spend more time out of bed, and promote their recovery.
This year’s Fun Day was a great achievement. Let’s look forward to the next!
