Reimagining the City

With our city streets empty of the usual hustle and bustle of people, it is an interesting moment to think about how we might reimagine our urban spaces.  How can they be transformed as places that embrace nature and that are better able to support a more environmentally conscious way of living, and what are the projects that are showing us the way?

In this session we will hear from projects and artists that are working both city wide and hyper local, and open up a discussion on what kind of cities we want to inhabit.

Contributors include:

National Park City Foundation
Margot Heller, Director, South London Gallery
Jane Riddiford, Co-Director, Global Generation
Anne-Marie Culhane, Artist/ Performer /Activist

Facilitated by Heather Ackroyd, Ackroyd & Harvey

The Evening Offer, 19.30-21.00

Art Visioning – manifesting through our creativity with Tamaryn Payne
A free flow art session and conversation exploring our present and our dreams for our future.

As we remain at home, mostly indoors, what we do at the moment will be different but it doesn’t mean we can’t still work towards our climate activism goals.

Ever wondered what the world would be like if we do radically change how we live and the systems that govern us? In this time we might vision what we’d like to see in the future – and start making it a reality. We can use our creativity to imagine what is possible and enjoy making something arty –  with no pressure to make a masterpiece!

Tamaryn Payne has been a climate activist since XR began, and helped launch Culture Declares. She has since formed Earth Ensemble, XR’s theatre company.
