UPDATE FROM ILESH AND DUSH AT MISS U STATIONERS
Staying in touch in difficult times

Dear all

Many of us continue to miss Ilesh and Dush Patel, who made Miss U Stationers in Trinity Road, Tooting Bec a place where all were welcomed and where you could find any office or stationery item you could possibly want from their stock of thousands of lines. They were a pillar of support to Balham and Tooting’s voluntary groups. Their skill and patience in designing and printing flyers and so on were legendary.

They were a true hub of the community, as the BATCA Community Award they received in 2015 demonstrates.

Ilesh and Dush retired in February this year, but they’re are keen to keep in touch with their local friends. They write:

Hi all

Hope everyone is well and keeping safe.

Well since 1st of March this year not much has been done, except me doing lots of vegetable growing and digging in my garden, our plans of flying to India in March were cancelled due to the Covid-19 virus, and was advised by the doctors to stay home and our boys would not let us go out at all, they have been doing all the shopping, and looking after us as they are also working from home, so they are also keeping an eye on us.

We have also been keeping busy clearing our basement out, we threw 3 skip loads away in our front drive way for anyone who could make use of it and the rest we had put in the skip.

It’s now October and just when we thought things are getting better the government and the doctors are saying that there is a second wave of this killer virus coming and we should still stay at home as the number of deaths are increasing, and that we are in the venerable category.

Hope we can come to Tooting and meet up once the virus is gone, and safe for everyone to enjoy life as we all used to before the Covid-19 started.

Till next time

Please keep well and safe

Ilesh & Dushyant

I’m sure we all send Ilesh and Dush our good wishes, and look forward to the time when we’ll be able to see them again in Tooting. Ilesh sent us these photos recently.
