Summerstown182’s guided history walks are a cherished feature of life in Tooting. Sadly, the walks have been on hold since March, but the group has kept many activities and projects going and kept us in the picture on social media. This is a message from their leader, Geoff Simmons.
Hi everybody,
Hope you are all well!
I just wanted you to know that I am planning a Summerstown182 Zoom Talk so I can outline some of the projects we are doing in a bit more depth and keep people in the loop who used to come on the walks and talks which we are not able to do right now. Also I’d be keen to try and reach out and get some younger people interested in local heritage and history. If it works we might do it on a regular basis.
Look out for more details but I will aim to do this very soon and the idea will be an update on the plaques, downloadable walks, cycles and other activities. It will keep the ball rolling at a time when we can’t get out on the streets and hopefully spread some cheer!
I hope you can all access Zoom. Its free to download and very easy to use. Keep an eye on Twitter or the website and we’ll send out a password in advance so you can log-in to the Talk if you want. As well as mentioning what’s going on in the wonderful world of Summerstown, naturally I will flag what my lovely community-minded pals are up to and we might even have guest slots when we work things out!
As ever – peace, love and flower to the people.
