Many of us have come to love Fishponds Fields in Hebdon Road as they have become more accessible to the public over the last year.
Geoff Simmons of Summerstown 182 is giving us the chance to hear about their fascinating past in a zoom talk at 7pm on Thursday 20th May. They have a rich history as ancient fisheries, then as the heart of Tooting’s flourishing C19 horticulture, and now as a hidden green oasis in a densely urban area.
Geoff’s local history talks on zoom have been a highlight of lockdown. Their inimitable mix of personalities, memories, photos and anecdotes, always delivered with a light touch, bring history to life in a very enjoyable way.
