The Tooting Foodival is Tooting’s premier autumn event. Organised by Transition Town Tooting and much looked forward to, it celebrates local food and food growers, and seeks to promote a more sustainable way of life. It’s great fun and has a festival atmosphere.
Local growers contribute fruit and vegetables which High Street restaurants use to create amazing dishes for the public to sample.
There’s much more. A range of community players will show what they do to encourage a greener, more sustainable approach all round. This includes a ‘share and repair’ workshop from Restart, a clothes upcycling event and a locally grown veg display. There’ll be a photographic workshop, a tie dye workshop and cookery lessons.
There’ll be non-stop entertainment, crafts, green talks and ‘soap box speeches’ – see below.
